A place where science decides everything

For eons, entropy was an unavoidable force of nature. Humanity nevertheless learned to understand it, tame it, and even bend it to its own will. Your entire upbringing has been about learning how to shape the very mechanisms of the universe to your will – or rather, to your people’s will. Your future is to become a scientist and belong to the most revered caste.

Now the final exam awaits. You must prove that you can create new solar systems, awaken stars to life, design different types of habitats, and finally seed life on planets. It is still only a simulation, and there are limits to what you can accomplish here; this is science, not magic.

You are not alone, either. Around the facility, other apprentices are entering their own chambers to take on the same trial. Only one will make it all the way through and be chosen for the caste. This is the moment when everything is decided.

Moves, cards and creation

The game is played over a varying number of rounds. On each turn, you move your scientist 1 to 3 steps clockwise around the main game board. Your move must end on either an inner action space on the main game board or an outer space on an action tile, and then you carry out the associated action.

By playing cards, you build solar systems with stars, planets and asteroids, which you then fill with life. You can also gain special abilities by adding habitats and upgrading your control panel.

The winner

The game ends when 2 of the 6 main objectives have been achieved. The player with the most victory points when the game ends is the winner.
